A Letter From Miss Sas: Come Anyway
Miss SasWell hey there, Friend.
I slipped out onto the porch a little early this morning with a fresh cup of coffee. The world was still quiet, and it got me thinking...
Isn't it funny how we'll spend half a day cleaning the house before company comes over, but the people we love most have seen us with laundry on the couch, dishes in the sink, and wearing that same old T-shirt we've had since who knows when?
Those are our people. They weren't coming to inspect the house. They were coming to see us.
I think we forget that sometimes.
We spend so much of our lives trying to get everything "just right." We'll start the business when we're ready. We'll buy the planner when life settles down. We'll invite people over when the house looks better. We'll chase the dream when the timing's perfect.
Honey...
If I waited until life was all put together before I sat down on this porch, I'd probably never get to sit down.
Life has a way of happening right in the middle of the mess. The dishes will still be there later. The grass is going to need mowing again before you know it. And somebody's going to ask, "What's for supper?" about ten minutes before you're ready to think about it.
That's just life.
And I think there's something kind of beautiful about that.
I don't think we're here to build perfect lives. I think we're here to build good ones. The kind where people feel welcome. The kind where there's always enough coffee for one more cup. The kind where nobody feels like they've got to pretend everything's okay before they walk through the gate.
So if today's a little messy... come anyway.
If you're tired... come anyway.
If you've got dishes in the sink and a to-do list that's already getting on your nerves... come anyway.
The porch wasn't built for people who've got it all figured out. It was built for neighbors.
And I'm really glad you're here.
There's always room for one more chair.
